The QA Testing Analyst I - Alberta temporarily reporting to the Chief Information Officer - Alberta is based in the Sherwood Park location. The QA Testing Analyst - Alberta is responsible for executing and supporting the organization’s QA processes, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions. The Analyst assists in analyzing requirements, executing test cases, and identifying basic software defects to help ensure the delivery of quality software solutions.

Essential Responsibilities
Testing and Execution
Perform manual testing of software applications to identify defects and issues.Execute predefined test cases and plans under supervision.Support functional and regression testing tasks.Record and track software defects with guidance.Collaborate with the QA team to validate fixes and retest issues.Ensure testing activities align with assigned business requirements and project timelines.Defect Management and Quality Assurance
Document observed defects and inconsistencies.Participate in root cause analysis with support from senior team members.Ensure accurate reporting of issues and risks.Collaboration and Communication
Work with developers, business analysts, and project managers to understand software functionality.Provide test results and summaries to team members.Participate in team meetings and receive ongoing coaching.Process Improvement and Documentation
Assist in maintaining and refining QA processes, procedures, and standards.Staying updated on the latest testing tools, methodologies, and best practices.Continuously seek ways to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.Maintain test documentation, including test cases, test scripts, and reports.Other duties as required.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).2-3 years of experience in software quality assurance and testing.Basic-Intermediate understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and best practices.Basic understanding of QA methodologies and tools.Familiarity with defect tracking or test management systems is an asset.Analytical mindset and willingness to develop testing skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word / Excel).Fluent in English with solid written and verbal communication.Willingness to grow professionally through coaching and training.Strong problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.Excellent communication and documentation skills.Familiarity with Agile and DevOps testing environments is a plus.QA certifications (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE) are preferred but not required.Intermediate skill with Microsoft Office (Word / Excel) is required.Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills is required.Eagerness to learn and grow professionally.Successful completion of a credit check, criminal background check, education verification, and employment reference checks are required before employment.Thank you for considering our organization.
