In this role you’ll work side-by-side with some of the most talented operators in the energy industry to perform work that supports smooth and efficient operations of our Upgrading Coker assets.

Minimum Requirements :

Experience in plant operations such as heavy oil processing, sour gas processing, water treatment / power plants or refinery operations

Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to make timely decisions associated with process upsets

4th Class Power Engineering certification; ABSA certified or 4th Class Power Engineering Exam Part A

High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

Responsibilities :

Follow operating processes & procedures to ensure the safety of our people, equipment, and environment

Prepare & complete daily area logs and communicate significant changes and findings

Perform required plant operation duties and communicate all shift changes clearly & effectively

Ensure timely action and process adjustments during plant upsets that are consistent with operational objectives and target outputs

Prepare equipment and systems for maintenance and commissioning

Location and other Key Details :

You will work out of our Base Plant site in Fort McMurray, Alberta

The shift schedule is a 6 days on / 6 days off rotation (3 days on, 3 nights on, 6 days off; 12-hour shifts)

This position is safety sensitive

You will be required to perform some heavy lifting, use of ladders and working on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spaces
