The division’s support to the department includes : providing department-wide policy analysis and advice; research and analytics; business planning services; Federal / Provincial / Territorial relations; legislative support; managing the department’s records management program (central registry); and, supporting the department’s facility and accommodation requirements.

About Our Opportunity
In this role, you will report to the Director, Legislation, Policy & Federal / Provincial / Territorial (FPT) Relations and will be accountable to undertake a variety of policy coordination and development functions. You will be engaged in providing advice to senior management on justice policy development, implementation, review, and interpretation; researching and analyzing justice trends and emerging policy issues; identifying and assessing justice policy impacts and recommending appropriate courses of action and leading and / or advising on program evaluation.
Primary Accountabilities
In this role, you will work closely with all Divisions, FPT partners, and a number of Agencies, Boards and Commissions affiliated with the Department. A few of your key responsibilities will include :
Qualifications and Experience
You hold a university degree in a relevant discipline, e.g., public administration, law or the social sciences, in addition to several years of research and policy experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience maybe considered.
Experience in coordination and planning, working with multi-disciplinary teams, conducting research and analysis, and advanced computer skills are essential to this role. Strong organizational and administrative skills are essential skills as you will be expected to set priorities, meet deadlines, and manage multiple assignments. You must also possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to establish productive relationships with representatives of non-governmental and governmental organizations (both interdepartmentally and interjurisdictionally). This role also requires ability to work independently with minimal supervision, be self-motivated, and able to follow-up proactively and address issues as they arise.
