Data Science Instructor – Part-Time

Metro College of Technology has been registered under the Ontario Career Colleges Act since 1992. Programs include Engineering Design & Technology, Accounting, Payroll Administration, ERP, Data Science, Cloud Computing, and Digital Marketing. The college provides co‑op opportunities for graduates to enter the workforce.
This role is a part‑time Data Science Instructor position and may lead to a full‑time role. Teaching activities are conducted online with some in‑person exams.
Responsibilities
- Prepare teaching plans and materials
- Deliver instruction to students
- Guide students through mini‑projects
- Review homework and provide feedback for error correction
- Mark tests, exams, and mini‑projects
- Provide additional support to slower students
- Participate in instructor training meetings
- Support students with job search
Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in data science, data analysis, statistics, or a related field
- Strong knowledge and skills in data science, statistics, or related areas
- 4–5 years of work experience as a data analyst or data scientist
- Experience delivering instruction to post‑secondary students; teaching adults is a strong asset
- Advanced skill in Microsoft Excel and experience with Tableau and Power BI
- Proficiency in VBA, Python, R, SAS, and SQL
- Good experience with Google Analytics 4
- Solid knowledge of machine learning, deep learning, cloud computing, generative AI, and big data analytics
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a team
- Experience working with remote teams and delivering online instruction is a plus
Teaching Days and Time: Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri, 9:00 – 14:00
