THE COMPANY - Pacific Canbriam Energy Limited (PCE)

Headquartered in Calgary, Alberta with operations near Fort St. John, British Columbia, Pacific Canbriam Energy Limited is committed to our 5Cs business philosophy of creating benefits for our community, country, climate, customer, and company.

PCE believes that the quality of its resource is a strategic asset that differentiates the company. Early efforts to identify a scalable, low-cost supply source led to a focus on the Altares and Kobes Montney regions in northeast B.C. The Montney is a world-class resource and Altares is among the highest quality areas. The region possesses a unique combination of thickness and over-pressure, which contributes to highly efficient stacked resource development and strong well deliverability. Pacific Canbriam's Montney resource also possesses a high liquids content and overall rock quality that translates into a highly competitive supply cost.

We believe that teamwork is the foundation of our success. We have established a culture where problem solving skills and critical thinking are highly valued. Individual technical disciplines collaborate to achieve common objectives and continuously improve results. PCE’s strategy and its culture are centred on this commitment.

PCE is committed to protecting people and the environment through responsible natural resource development. We are proud to engage in industry-leading sustainability practices and promote continuous improvement throughout all areas of environment, social and governance (ESG) topics.

The next iteration of our integrated approach involves the planned export of our natural gas to markets in growing economies overseas. To achieve this aim, PCE will supply B.C.’s proposed Woodfibre LNG project, which will liquefy the natural gas and load it into vessels. The natural gas will be shipped to international markets to help supply the energy the world needs.

THE POSITION

PCE is currently seeking an Advisor, Health & Safety to join our team in Fort St. John. This role plays a key part in both field execution and program development, helping drive safe, efficient, and compliant operations across all business units. Working closely with the Health, Safety, Security and Emergency Management (HSSEM) team and the broader Health, Safety, Environment and Regulatory (HSER) team as well as field operations, this position supports the implementation of safety programs, leads critical risk and hazard assessments, and helps drive performance improvements through data, collaboration, and hands‑on support in the field.

This is a standard Monday to Friday work week, with an expectation to be in the field at 50% capacity or based on business needs. On‑Call rotation is also required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and ongoing improvement of HSSEM programs aligned with BC-ER, WorkSafeBC, and industry best practices
  • Maintain centralized systems for documentation and ensure content is current, accessible, and governed by change management
  • Collaborate with field and corporate teams to embed HSSEM in operational planning and execution
  • Lead internal and third‑party assurance activities to assess program effectiveness and identify improvement areas
  • Coach field teams on inspections, observations, and Life Saving Rule verifications to support strong frontline safety performance
  • Review and conduct risk assessments, JSAs, and hazard control measures for field activities, ensuring effective controls are in place
  • Track and verify corrective actions to address identified risks
  • Lead investigations for moderate+ events using HOP principles to identify root causes and system improvements
  • Prepare reports and learning summaries to drive a culture of learning and continuous safety improvement
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and use data tools to track safety metrics, identify trends, and support decision‑making
  • Generate automated reports and summaries for stakeholders to inform performance improvement
  • Lead HSSEM projects and targeted safety campaigns from initiation through close‑out
  • Coordinate cross‑functional teams and manage stakeholder engagement and communication
  • Support contractor pre‑qualification, onboarding, assurance activities, and performance reviews
  • Ensure contractor alignment with HSSEM standards through regular engagement and oversight
  • Coordinate annual updates to corporate and field Emergency Response Plans (ERPs), including exercises and training
  • Ensure emergency preparedness activities comply with regulatory requirements across all operations
  • Assist in delivering and tracking training programs across the organization
  • Communicate key updates and manage related change processes

About You

  • Excels at identifying risks before they become issues, leading investigations with a focus on learning, and partnering with both internal teams and contractors to drive continuous improvement
  • Possesses a calm, proactive, and collaborative approach to safety, grounded in strong technical knowledge, analytical skills, and a genuine commitment to protecting people and the environment
  • Committed to building safer systems—not just enforcing rules
  • Excels at translating complex information into clear insights, driving continuous improvement through real‑time reporting and stakeholder engagement
  • Constantly seeks to understand the current state, while identifying opportunities for improvement, anticipating potential risks, and takes pre‑emptive steps to address hazards before they become issues. Encourages a culture of continuous learning and improvement in HSSEM practices
  • Demonstrates integrity, ownership, collaboration, and a commitment to continuous improvement, in alignment with PCE’s core values and Five Cs
  • Requirements

  • Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation is required; additional certifications in Health and Safety, Security, or Emergency Management are preferred.
  • Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Business, or applicable areas of study
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in field‑based and corporate HSSEM roles, including program planning, implementation, assurance, continuous improvement, and reporting.
  • Experience in a lead or advisory role involving cross‑functional coordination or project management within a complex and fast‑paced organizational setting, preferably within the upstream energy sector representing E&P companies.
  • Advanced understanding of WorkSafeBC and BC-ER regulations. Ability to design, implement, and maintain regulatory compliant, effective and fit‑for‑purpose HSSEM programs.
  • Skilled facilitator with the ability to lead meetings, provide clear guidance to stakeholders, drive consensus, support effective change management and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Proven experience leading complex projects across multi‑disciplinary teams.
  • Meticulous, with strong time‑management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Able to maintain organized records and ensure timely completion of HSSEM priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, stakeholder engagement, and facilitation skills.
  • Strong systems‑thinking approach with the ability to align HSSEM programs to organizational strategy, risk frameworks, and operational needs.
  • Advanced analytical capabilities, including the ability to conduct trend analyses, generate actionable insights, and develop / manage key performance indicators (KPIs) using digital solutions.
  • Knowledge and strong understanding of HOP principles and experience in applying them to HSSEM practices, with a focus on building resilience into the system and creating an environment where employees feel empowered to report hazards without fear of blame.
  • APPLICATION PROCESS

Please submit your resume and a cover letter addressed to the Coordinator, HSER Field Operations indicating your interest in the position and how your experience meets or exceeds the qualifications. Pacific Canbriam Energy thanks all candidates; however only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
