POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a motivated, experienced professional to lead our life cycle and warranty management program for high-voltage (HV) batteries in current and future vehicle production. In this role you will be the driving force behind resolving technical issues affecting customers and ensuring our zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs) meet the highest standards for reliability and performance.
This key leadership position will involve working with cutting-edge HV battery technology, guiding cross-functional teams, and ensuring all technical documentation - from manuals to Emergency Response Guides (ERGs) - is accurate and up to date. You will be the voice of the customer and Service Organization, advocating across departments to ensure alignment and support for sustainable transportation solutions.
WHAT YOU WILL DO :
- Acquire in-depth knowledge of supplier specifications, battery construction, and application requirements for optimal system performance.
- Advise senior leadership on technical risk assessments and provide recommendations to shape key business strategies.
- Collaborate with HF battery suppliers to enhance performance, reduce risks, and improve customer experiences with ZEVs.
- Lead warranty provision activities for high-voltage (HV) batteries, including bid costing, provision management, and warranty protection through health monitoring.
- Conduct critical investigations into HV battery field issues, identifying root causes and driving permanent corrective actions.
- Gain and maintain a detailed understanding of all HV battery systems installed in New Flyer and MCI products.
- Manage and allocate resources for the Zero-Emission Vehicle Projects team, ensuring project success and team efficiency.
- Provide leadership and technical support in creating and maintaining a comprehensive technical reference library for HV batteries.
- Review and refine service instructions and bulletins for HV batteries, occasionally conducting fieldwork to identify root causes and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with the Publications team to ensure that all relevant customer documentation, including Emergency Response Guides (ERGs) and manuals, are accurate, up to date, and communicated effectively. Publish bulletins as needed.
- Act as a key technical resource for Zero-Emission Vehicle projects ensuring project success and operational efficiency.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL :
A Master’s degree in Electrical or Chemical Engineering or equivalent.A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership capacity would be an asset.Deep knowledge of HV battery construction, design, and testing equipment.Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to various audiences.Demonstrated leadership, self-motivations, and project management expertise with meticulous attention to detail.Willingness and ability to travel within Canada and the US as needed.Join us in pushing the boundaries of zero-emission technology and making a lasting impact on the future of transportation.
