Job Description
As a Survey Technician Specialist, you'll be responsible for surveying existing land conditions for infrastructure projects. The types of surveys may vary from simple surface surveys to complex urban surveys and final surveys following construction work. The main workplace is in the Montreal, Gatineau, Laval or Terrebonne regions, but you may have to travel outside these areas.
Primary Responsibilities
- Participate in land surveying
- Use survey instruments and data collection devices
- Perform calculations - data processing
- Prepare field notes and deliverables for the office
- Liaise with site owners, customers and construction site supervisors
- Participate in computer processing and produce survey reports using various surveying and drawing software programs
- Participate in the preparation of field operations (preparation of alignments for surveying equipment, search for geodetic tie-in points)
- Determine precise geographic coordinates using global positioning systems (GPS)
- Administer survey data (plan on AutoCAD civil 3D)
Qualifications
DEP surveying or DEC civil engineering or geodesy or equivalentSurveying experience or knowledgeExperience of working in a multidisciplinary team in the fieldExperience in supervision, site surveying or drafting and design (an asset)In-depth knowledge of municipal infrastructure construction procedures and practices (roads, bridges, infrastructure)Valid and up-to-date ASP construction cardProficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Total Station equipment, GPS receivers, electronic level, 3D digitizer (an asset)Autonomy, team spirit, ability to perform well without supervision, good communication and interpersonal skills, initiative and high sense of responsibilityAbility to work outdoors in all seasonsAvailability for occasional travel outside the immediate areaDriver's license and car available for travelPleasure craft operator's card (an asset)Confined space entry training (an asset)If you have any questions, please contact Ibrahima Amadou LY
