Position Overview

The Scheduling Clerk is the subject matter expert and is responsible for the day‑to‑day coordination of human‑resource staffing which includes assigning and maintaining staff schedules, staffing relief shifts, on‑call shifts, and necessary data entry and record keeping. Working closely with leadership, the Scheduling Clerk ensures compliance with collective agreement scheduling rules with the aim to create cost‑effective schedules that reduce the need for overtime and agency resources.

The incumbent exercises the appropriate level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed and action to be taken on unusual matters. The position functions in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision and values; and the policies of Southern Health‑Santé Sud.

Experience

• Minimum one (1) year experience with electronic employee scheduling applications.
• Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a health care environment.
