KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Director - Community Services, and under the direct supervision of the Programs and Facilities Managers, the incumbent performs a full range of routine administrative, clerical, data entry and retrieval duties, along with public relations and other related services to the Community Services Department.

The incumbent provides the first level of response to public inquiries and complaints pertaining to operations as well as being responsible for establishing and maintaining the Department's work management program. The Community Services Coordinator is the key position responsible for the training of staff on the program registration and facilities booking software, as well as overseeing ongoing program maintenance.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a post-secondary diploma in administration, recreation, or a related field, along with a minimum of 2 years of administrative experience. A valid NWT Class 5 Drivers license is also required.

The incumbent must be proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and must demonstrate the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software and technologies. The ability to work independently and demonstrate consistent initiative is essential.

The position requires the occasional need to work overtime on weekends and / or after standard office hours.

SALARY

The City of Yellowknife offers a starting annual salary of $80,771.85, as well as a comprehensive benefits package including a defined benefit pension plan, and monthly housing and vacation travel allowances totaling $450.
