Position Overview :

Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Labourer will provide work as part of the manufacturing team to provide a range of support with a high degree of professionalism, organization and, time management..

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to) :

Maintain facility cleanliness and appearance including garbage removal, washroom cleaning and restocking and other general cleaning requirements;

Perform and record light maintenance tasks and immediately report any repair requirements;

Promote the best interest of the company by fostering goodwill and support between Inland and its customers ensuring that Inland’s policy of superior service and satisfaction are met;

Keep all Inland owned or managed equipment, tools and materials in good working condition, including keeping clean and returning to assigned storage areas when not in use;

Required Skills and Experience :

High school diploma or equivalent is considered an asset;

Ability to read, write, speak and communicate effectively;

Ability to interpret documents including safety rules, operating, maintenance and procedure manuals;

General mechanical competence and ability to effectively use hand tools;

Ability to work as part of a team;

Ability to maintain a positive and good-natured attitude;

Self-starter with the ability to prioritize workload to ensure deadlines are met;

A valid driver’s license is required for this position.

Work Environment :

The Labourer will have a mixture of indoor work and field work. They will be exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and / or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. There will be times when they will be required to work outside of their normal work schedule, so that we may meet the needs of our customers and / or operational requirements.

Physical Demands :

It is expected that the candidate be physically fit and able to perform all operational requirements;

Regularly required to stand / walk for extended periods of time as well as bending, kneeling and climbing;

Must be able to use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms;

Ability to lift, push, and pull objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds regularly;

Employees must have the ability to climb 20-foot heights for work;

Ability to work in a confined space for extended periods of time;

Work outdoors for long periods when necessary;

Wearing of personal protective equipment when required and full mobility allowing for freedom of movement in high-risk environment;

Must be able to speak clearly and hear efficiently to supplement other senses in maximizing situational awareness in safety sensitive environments;

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus;

May be required to move, connect, disconnect hoses and be able to operate industrial valves and perform general labor duties.
