We are seeking an experienced IT Operations Specialist to join our dynamic IT team. As an IT Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, network devices, and storage systems. You will work closely with other IT team members and department heads to ensure that our technology infrastructure is reliable, secure, and optimized to meet business needs. This opportunity has the option to be based out of Winnipeg, Edmonton, Campbell River, or Saskatoon. This is an in-office position only. Your contributions to the team : Design, implement, and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, network devices, and access control systems. Monitor network and system performance to identify and troubleshoot issues, and proactively identify and address potential problems. Develop and maintain IT infrastructure policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Manage Microsoft Intune desktop and mobile environments and provide support for endpoint management. Develop and maintain technical documentation including detailed, internal, technical write-ups, and easy-to-understand user-facing documentation. Configure and maintain security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access control systems. Ensure system and data backups are performed regularly and test restoration procedures to ensure data integrity. Install and configure software and hardware systems, including operating systems and applications. Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with external service providers to ensure that services are delivered and repaired in accordance with service level agreements. Provide escalation-level technical support to end-users and assist with resolving IT related issues. Optimize and Automate systems using PowerShell, Group Policy, Microsoft Intune, and other automation software or programming languages. Stay informed on new or emerging trends and technologies that provide clear benefits to the organization. What you need to be successful : Minimum 5 years of direct work experience in systems and / or network administration, with user support. Strong technical knowledge of servers, storage systems, network devices, and security systems. Minimum 3 years Windows Server experience, including Active Directory and PKI. Minimum 3 years experience with VMware virtualization technologies. Minimum 3 years experience with Microsoft Office 365 administration. Minimum 3 years experience with Microsoft Azure AD. Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPNs, OSPF, IPv4 / IPv6, etc.). Basic experience managing Linux servers. Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues with little to no direction. Experience managing SCCM and Intune environments. Experience with Fortinet, Ubiquiti, or TP-Link networking products would be considered an asset. Experience with A / V Equipment would be considered an asset. Experience with access control systems would be considered an asset. Basic working knowledge of PowerShell or C#. Able to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently. High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability. Superior time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field would be considered an asset. Relevant certifications would be considered an asset.
