Black & McDonald is actively seeking a Mobile Building Operator to join our dynamic Facilities Management & Operations (FMO) team in Vancouver, BC. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands‑on, customer‑focused, and technically skilled professional looking to grow their career in a supportive and fast‑paced environment. The Building Operator position will be based out of our Vancouver Office and report to the Project Manager.

Responsibilities

• In conjunction with the Project Manager and the team, plan and execute responsive and planned maintenance in accordance with facility management system.
• Operate and monitor computerized Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment.
• Conduct minor plumbing and electrical repairs.
• Ensure safe conditions inside and outside of facilities.
• Respond to client service requests and ensure contract compliance.
• Establish methods to meet work schedules and co‑ordinate work activities with other subcontractors.
• Perform basic tours and log readings.
• Perform light duties such as cleaning, painting, garbage removal, snow removal, HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical duties, assisting subcontractors’ technician’s mechanics, etc.
• Build and maintain customer and supplier / vendor relationships to enhance competitiveness in the industry and promote good customer relationships.
• Assist in preparing construction project budget estimates.
• Assist in planning and preparing construction schedules and milestones and monitor progress against established schedules.
• Assist in preparing contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Assist in developing and implementing quality control programs.
• Represent the company on matters such as business services.
• Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients.
• Assist in purchase of building materials.
• Review work / contracts / WIP for areas of risk and correct deficiencies.

Expected compensation for this role is a starting pay range between $28–$33 / hour dependent on skills and experience.
