Description
We are looking for an experienced western and continental Cook with minimum of 3 years of professional experience. As a Continental Cook you will do menu Planning, Recipe Execution, Kitchen Management, Quality Control and Adherence to strict hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen, including proper food handling, storage, and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and create menus featuring a variety of Continental dishes.
- Follow recipes and cooking techniques to prepare Continental dishes with consistency and high quality.
- Prepare and portion ingredients, including cutting, marinating, and seasoning meats, vegetables, etc.
- Utilize various cooking techniques such as grilling, roasting, sautéing, and baking.
- Focus on the presentation of dishes, arranging and garnishing plates for visual appeal.
- Monitor and maintain high standards of taste, texture, and overall quality in all dishes.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure a smooth workflow and efficient service during peak hours.
- Modify recipes or cooking techniques to accommodate dietary preferences or restaurant style.
- Adhere to strict hygiene and safety protocols in food handling, storage, and cleanliness.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels of kitchen supplies and ingredients.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, waitstaff, and management to relay information about orders and discuss menu changes.
- Stay updated on culinary trends, new ingredients, and innovative cooking techniques.
- Collaborate with kitchen colleagues to maintain a positive and efficient working environment.
- Assist in training and supporting junior staff as needed.
Qualifications
3 years to less than 5 years.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
