We are seeking a skilled Cyber Security Specialist to join this dynamic NGO. In this role, you will collaborate with the Director of IT to safeguard their systems, mitigate risks, lead incident response initiatives, and uphold top-tier security standards across the organization.

Your expertise will be pivotal in protecting our information, securing our operational infrastructure, and ensuring business continuity against cyber threats.

Key responsibilities include :

Cyber Threat Review

  • Monitor security alerts to identify potential threats.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments to detect any gaps or risks.
  • Stay informed about emerging cyber threats and proactively review risk strategies.

Incident Response

  • Lead incident response efforts and swiftly address cybersecurity breaches.
  • Investigate all cybersecurity incidents, providing rapid and effective responses, and ensure proper documentation for incident management.
  • Develop an incident response plan for future risk mitigation.

Security Infrastructure Management

  • Configure, deploy and manage security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection / prevention systems, antivirus software, and encryption tools.
  • Ensure systems have robust access controls, authentication mechanisms, and data encryption methods to protect sensitive information.

Policy and Compliance

  • Stay current with industry standards for compliance.
  • Monitor cybersecurity practices and ensure adherence to all privacy policies through regular compliance assessments.

Training and Awareness

Design and implement corporate-wide security training programs to foster a strong commitment to cybersecurity adherence.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in computer science with a focus on cybersecurity and a minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, particularly in highly sensitive security environments.

They will demonstrate strong proficiency in cyber threat analysis, incident response, and managing security infrastructure, including firewalls, antivirus software, and data encryption tools.

The candidate should have extensive experience in developing and implementing incident response plans, monitoring security alerts, conducting risk assessments, and leading incident response initiatives.

A thorough knowledge of security frameworks and standards, such as NIST and ISO 27001, is essential, along with a deep understanding of privacy policies and industry requirements.

The candidate will stay current on emerging threats and risk management tools, proactively addressing potential vulnerabilities.

They should possess strong communication skills to design and implement security training programs and have a collaborative approach to integrating security measures with the IT team, including access controls, authentication mechanisms, and data encryption methods.

You will exhibit a proactive approach to security, demonstrating a commitment to staying ahead of potential threats. They must be adaptable to changing priorities and show a proven ability to work both autonomously and as part of a larger team.

Willingness to work on-site as required is also essential.
