Description
As a Program Manager, you will manage complex, strategically important programs, to achieve company’s goals and objectives. You will create and manage complex budgets and project plans in line with the business needs in key areas of GS1 Canada prioritized programs and initiatives. You create strategic and operational plans for programs and then monitor and report on the program and financial goals. As a program manager, you update the stakeholders on project progress, changes from original plans, and existing or emerging risks. Collaboration with the cross-functional teams and the other project managers allows you to overcome challenges and achieve desired results.

- Cross-functional management of a team of internal staff and external consultants to ensure timely completion of tasks; driving motivation, collaboration & performance;
- Makes suggestions to improve team engagement and effectiveness, builds consensus for timely decisions, expertly navigating through challenging scenarios and interpersonal obstacles; Leads implementation of team decisions, while avoiding decision gridlock. Coach, motivate and inspire cross-functional team members to work together and achieve program success;

Program Management and Financial Acumen
Expertly applies project planning framework to programs; is an individual contributor to portfolio management;Highly proficient in the use of PM tools;Develops complex timelines for the completion of each project. Develops alternative plan for completing a job if needed;Create a budget for project tasks and monitor spending within approved project resources.Recommends changes to stay within budget and on time;Expertly manages the triple constraints (schedule, scope, budget) to consistently achieve predictable project outcomes; skilled at customizing Software Development Lifecycle Process (SDLC) and deliverables via Project plan to meet individual needs of different programs and all stakeholders;Proficient at creating framework around project scope definition and control. Effectively maintains project scope within 10% (in weeks) of the original scope via negotiations and pivots.;Strives to apply innovation in program management and is not afraid to use unconventional means towards success;Creates comprehensive program budgets and meets financial targets set by the business.Risk Management and Retrospectives
Expertly rolls risk management tools into programs' tasks, able to easily identify potential risks and create mitigations; adjust resource and budget requirements according to identified risk mitigations and reserves; is able to roll up risk scores;Is able to anticipate threats to the triple constraints and mitigate them;Facilitates program retrospectives at various phases of the program; updates archives and synthesizes and communicates findings upward.Stakeholder Management and Executive Communications
Understands subscribers’ needs and is able to translate them into project requirements;Expertly creates and delivers presentations to business partners, company executives and various stakeholders;Is able to synthesize the message and convey the right level of urgency and expertise to executives; is able to creatively propose solutions to various project issues.Managing through change and uncertainty

Able to Setup and launch Agile projects, aligned with the Domain-Driven Design Engineering Model (e.g. SPADO);Is capable of shifting into new Domains (areas of expertise) when required. Participates inTechnical Release scheduling and provides updates on SDLC release schedule;Is comfortable working in environments such as Azure DevOps, Jira, etc. Able to produce performance metrics. Create, read and use Azure DevOps boards for user stories, tasks, bugs;Acts as the liaison between developers, QA, and others.Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
