Staffinity is currently seeking a Mining Supervisor for a Canadian client located in Southwestern, Ontario. This position is accountable for the safe, efficient and quality of work performed by the assigned mining crew. The Supervisor must be capable of modifying the shift's plan as required and ensuring the maximization of resources. This is a permanent position with base salary, benefits, vacation, bonus and shift premium. The position will work a full-time, schedule Monday to Friday. The position will rotate 1 week of days, 1 week of afternoons and 1 week of nights. The base salary range is 83-124k. A relocation package is available.
Qualifications :
- Ensure that their crew members know and follow the company’s policies, procedures and standards for work and safety, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Mines and Mining Plants.
- Set and achieve production targets.
- Direct Processing, Services, Ground Control, Production and Development personnel and equipment to maximize their performance and production.
- Perform weekly and monthly safety audits as well as promote and monitor the use of Safety Systems and Tools.
- Liaise with maintenance, engineering, logistics and other departments
- Comply and execute their responsibilities in adherence to the Collective Agreement including fair and just discipline consistent with company policies and manage Stage 1 grievances.
- Ensure Mine Rescue personnel are made available for training, as scheduled.
- Complete pre-shift and post-shift communication to relay critical information to the relieving supervisor.
- Make routine checks of the refuge stations, explosive storage and fire suppression equipment.
- Complete scheduled Safety Audits.
- Verify equipment pre-operation inspections.
- Ensure that proper tagging and lockout procedures are being followed.
- Verify the accuracy and appropriateness of all work orders.
- Verify the preparation, accuracy and delivery of time-worked records.
- Ensure required supplies, tools and appropriate safety equipment are on hand and delivered to the correct work site.
- Follow company procedures for reporting mechanical or electrical malfunctions and ordering appropriate maintenance support.
- Ensure that non-routine tasks are identified and safe procedures developed and communicated to all involved employees prior to the start of the operation.
- Attend safety, production planning meetings.
- Investigate all accidents, incidents and occurrences and complete reports immediately.
- Advise all workers of actual or potential risks to his / her health or safety.
- Recommend training programs for direct-reporting staff and workers.
- Conduct probationary employee performance appraisals.
- Encourage worker input into production, best working practices and health and safety improvements.
- Track, analyze and report all variances.
Qualifications :
