Job description

Matchbox Consulting Group is seeking a Distribution Planning Engineer  to work on a 12-month contract for one of BC's largest utility and energy companies.

The Engineer will provide support to Distributed Energy Resource Planning team on an as-required basis to review complex net metering applications and complete distributed generation interconnection studies.

Responsibilities :

All the required Experience and Role Accountabilities shall relate to Overhead - and underground electric utility distribution systems operating at voltages at or below 35kV.

Support operations, maintenance, repair, replacement and expansion of the Distribution System.

Investigate, analyze and solve a variety of engineering problems, including the more challenging and unusual, by developing engineering techniques, devising new approaches and / or applying existing criteria in new ways

Provide technical guidance, instruction, and assistance related to the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and modifications of equipment

Requirements :

A minimum eight (8) years of experience in a relevant engineering field or equivalent.

Knowledge of distribution generation standards & system impact studies.

Canadian electrical code requirements for distributed generation.

P.Eng

Electrical background is required Nice to haves :

Interconnection study experience.
