Contractor, Engineering Support

On behalf of our client, Procom is seeking a Contractor, Engineering Support for a 12-month contract rolewith one of our utility sector clients.

Contractor, Engineering Support – Qualifications & Experience :

  • 4 – 7 years of Engineering experience in Utilities with strong design, analysis, and planning experience
  • Experience / knowledge of engineering maintenance & reliability analysis
  • Knowledgeable in business planning processes (proposals, budgeting, approvals, program planning)
  • Experience in Data Management and analysis, with applied experience in the use of Alteryx and Tableau
  • Proficiency in information technology applications such as general office software, CAD, SAP, GEAR, engineering records, and specialized engineering application software
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective project management operations, budgeting, process, and productivity improvement skills
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of independence and the ability to visualize opportunities
  • Aptitude and experience in adapting to, managing, and facilitating change
  • Demonstrated versatile leadership and ability to encourage organizational teamwork and collaboration
  • Strong negotiating and relationship-building abilities
  • Proven effective problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Customer-focused approach
  • Ability to predict and understand technological trends and their impact on business or strategic work plans
  • Knowledge of relevant safety and environmental legislation and regulations

Contractor, Engineering Support - Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering preferred)
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario (strongly preferred)
  • Experience in planning maintenance activities for utility assets
  • Strong design, analysis, and planning experience in the utility sector
  • Ability to work with large datasets effectively and prepare data analyses to drive engineering decisions efficiently
  • Experience in preparing material and / or technical specifications and standards
  • Ability to review proposals from suppliers, contractors, and consultants for technical merit and compliance
  • Experience in investigating and evaluating the application of new technologies
