Livingstone Range School Division (LRSD) invites innovative leaders who are energetic, insightful and experienced to apply for the position of Director of Finance with duties to commence on February 17th, 2026, or on a mutually agreed upon date.

Reporting to the Associate Superintendent, Business Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for the fiscal functions of the Division. The successful candidate will have proven success in leading forward thinking, effective practices in business operations, financial reporting, budgeting, developing effective working relationships, and solving complex problems. The successful candidate also will provide visionary leadership to, and be responsible for, all aspects of the finance department. The Director will ensure a culture of student-centered strategies to ensure efficient and cost effective business operations.

Communities within LRSD boundaries include Nanton, Stavely, Granum, Fort Macleod, Pincher Creek, Lundbreck, the Crowsnest Pass, MD of Ranchland, MD of Willow Creek and MD of Pincher Creek. The Division serves approximately 3,700 students in 14 schools, 13 Hutterite Colony schools, 2 outreach programs and a Virtual School. Other significant programming within LRSD include our Out Door Pursuits and FACES programs. LRSD employs approximately 500 employees and detailed information about LRSD can be found at . Applicants should possess a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or actively working toward it and have experience in school business administration, corporate, governmental and / or related administrative activities.

The ideal candidate will possess :

• demonstrated belief in the success of all students and an understanding of how the department can effectively support learning in schools;
• outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to nurture a positive culture and team oriented environment;
• a history and evidence of being a trusted leader guided by strong ethics;
• strong understanding of efficient and effective financial and budgetary practices including financial reporting under Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS);
• demonstrate understanding of mitigating financial risk through a strong control environment;
• ability to communicate complex financial information to a variety of audiences;
• foster a culture of continuous improvement to affect efficient and effective business operations;
• an understanding of and proficient in the use of accounting software's, google docs as well as excel.
