Overview
The Department of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto and the Department of Psychiatry of the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre are seeking to recruit an Academic Outpatient Geriatric Psychiatrist. The successful candidate will qualify for an academic position as a Clinician-Teacher, Researcher, Clinician-Educator or Clinician in Quality Improvement and must be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Lecturer, Assistant, Associate or Full Professor at the University of Toronto. Effective start will be determined in discussions with the candidate.
Responsibilities
- Provide outpatient geriatric psychiatry services alongside a multi-disciplinary team with opportunities to provide community outreach and support interprofessional geriatric medicine clinics.
- Support research in mental disorders and mental health of aging, with opportunities for interdisciplinary collaborations in the Garry Hurvitz Brain Sciences building and Harquail Centre, including neuromodulation research.
Qualifications
MD degree; Royal College / Board Certification or Royal College / Board Eligibility in Psychiatry; eligible for medical licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.Preferably eligible for a FRCPC in Geriatric Psychiatry or equivalent.Demonstrated track record of teaching excellence.Seniorities and Employment
