Junior Bridge Engineer

Role Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Bridge Engineer to join our team in Red Deer. In this role, you will work under the guidance of Senior Bridge Engineers, assisting in the coordination and delivery of bridge rehabilitation and construction projects. You will play a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective project execution while gaining valuable experience in transportation infrastructure development.

As a Junior Bridge Engineer, you will be responsible for :

• Supporting project delivery by assisting in the design, scoping, and construction of bridge rehabilitation and replacement projects.
• Coordinating with Senior Engineers to engage and evaluate engineering consultants and contractors, ensuring quality and compliance with department standards.
• Monitoring construction progress through site visits, pre-construction meetings, and final inspections.
• Reviewing engineering consultant designs, project specifications, and construction compliance.
• Communicating with municipalities, landowners, Indigenous groups, and other stakeholders to address project-related concerns.
• Tracking project costs, schedules, and expenditures to ensure on-time and within-budget project completion.
• Developing long-term bridge capital planning and maintenance program strategies.
