Licensed Tool & Die Maker in Scarborough
Our client, a leading automotive manufacturing company is looking for Licensed Tool & Die Maker to join the team.
Location : Scarborough (Markham Rd & Finch Ave E)
Job Responsibilities :
- Builds new dies and tooling from drawings and specifications by laying out, setting up, machining, fitting, and finishing metal stock and castings.
- Repairs dies and tools used in production as needed.
- Testing repaired dies for proper operation, operating press as required and running test parts.
- Operates a variety of machine tools to cut, mill or grind.
- Verifies conformance of completed dies to specifications by checking dimensions clearances, alignments and finish, consistently working to close tolerances.
- Performs Preventive and Predictive maintenance on tool room equipment
- Responsible to ensure that all safety and quality start up procedures are followed.
- Participates in all areas of lean manufacturing.
Qualifications
- Valid Ontario Tool & Die license.
- Minimum of 2 -3 years’ experience as a tool & Die maker in an automotive environment.
- Good working knowledge of crane operation.
- Good knowledge of various materials (tool steel, etc.) heat treating and basic welding.
- Proficient use and operation of all Tool room equipment including Grinders.
- Mathematical and Mechanical aptitude.
- Demonstrated organization skills, analytical skills, and problem-solving.
- Able to work well independently and in a team setting.
