The Opportunity
The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) is a key contributor of the IT Operations Team and responsible for providing production support for all components operating within our hosted payments platform. The SRE will be responsible for deploying product updates, identifying production issues, and implementing automated solutions that help optimize processes within the infrastructure. This is achieved by displaying a passion for the technology and ambition for learning while focusing on proactive and holistic approaches to continuously improving the customer experience.
Your Responsibilities
You will be deploying software builds and patches into production. Daily functions will be :
- Identifying technical problems and implementing patches or fixes
- Building and setting up new development tools and infrastructure
- Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes
- Analyzing problem areas and coordinate corrective actions before services are impacted
- Understanding the needs of engineering to improve and build new development environments
- Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
- Planning out projects and being involved in project management decisions
- Recommending improvements to help facilitate remediation of production events
- Researching and introducing tools and methodologies to help improve software deployment and process automation
- Maintaining understanding of industry best practices and leading-edge technologies and adopt as appropriate

4 years or more in a System Engineer or System Administration roleAbility to provide clear and concise technical documentationAptitude to work with both operations engineers and software developers on cross-functional teamsDemonstrate initiative and self-motivation as well as sound time managementTechnical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detailIn-depth knowledge of tools such as Ansible, Terraform, ArgoCD, GitLab, Bamboo, ElasticHigh proficiency scripting using Powershell, Bash, Python or similar languagesSolid understanding of Windows, Linux, VMware and Cloud technologies (GCP a plus)Working knowledge of software defined infrastructure and deployment strategiesRelational database experience such as MySQL, MS SQL, or PostgresB.S. degree in Computer Science or related fieldPerks & Benefits
