Job Description
Sun Life is looking for an advisor and client-focused leader to manage a team of Advisors whose primary responsibility is to develop their skills and knowledge to become future advisors and associate advisors in Sun Life Financial Distribution (SLFD). As a key contributor to the ongoing success of Prospr and SLFD, you will be responsible for coaching, leading and developing an engaged and high performing team.
As a leader in Prospr, you will be instrumental in the success of the Advisor Development Program (ADP). Through the cyclical onboarding of new Advisors trainees, you will work to ensure they meet all requirements and milestones to successfully transition to SLFD.
What will you do?
- Work closely with SLFD Field Leaders to provide feedback on Advisor Trainee performance
- Coach Advisor Trainees on sales performance and client interaction
- Play a key role in onboarding and training Advisor Trainees
- Manage a team of licensed Advisors. Activities including : Closely monitoring team’s activities, maintaining a strong pulse on key performance metricsproviding day to day direction to the teamwork force planning and scheduling1 : 1 coaching and performance managementProactively identify knowledge requirements and process improvements for the team.Identify strengths / gaps to develop team capability and skillsWork with the Recruiting & Strategic Growth team to align on overall ADP coordinationRelentless focus on data and insights for the team – collaborate with Analytics team, drive to close data gaps, analyze results, provide feedback, and recommend improvements to leadership.Assist in the creation of a client and sales-centric atmosphere including a focus on client retention and loyaltyManage the day-to-day sales and service function, ensuring that both the sales and service elements of the teams are functioning optimallyEnsure that Advisors are developing their understanding of wealth, life, health benefits products, and trends with the marketplaceBuild and maintain relationships with Individual distribution team, Dealer leaders and compliance staff
What do you need to succeed?
Licensing requirements :
Successful completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or IFICLife, Accident and Sickness licensedYou also need :
Strong knowledge and understanding of Mutual Fund IndustryExcellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to collaborate across all levelsStrong analytical, organizational, and presentation skillsExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalFlexibility and the ability to adapt to a frequently changing regulatory environmentPassion for relationship building : managing relationships with key external and internal business partnersStrong sales and service orientationPost-secondary education or relevant job experienceGood working knowledge of industry distribution systemsKnowledge of insurance laws and regulations, and the ability to apply it in practical situationsKnowledge and experience of industry compliance standards and practicesAwareness of other laws and regulations, such as the criminal code and other aspects of civil and common lawAdditional Requirements :
MFDA Branch Manager status, includes successful completion of the Branch Manager’s Course, and minimum of 2 years relevant experienceKnowledge of Salesforce.com platformWhat’s in it for you?
