To Create a List for Casual Employment Opportunities The LPN position is a member of the interdisciplinary care team and under the direction of the registered nurse, reports directly to Nurse Supervisor. This position collaborates with the other members of the team to ensure a high standard of care is delivered, quality initiatives are implemented and maintained and organizational policies / procedures are adhered to.
Duties will include :
- Administers client treatments within scope of practice;
- Assists Registered Nurse / Nurse Practitioner with organizing and prioritizing day-to-day client care activities;
- Reports and documents client reactions, and responses to treatment and / or emotional support;
- Reports immediately and documents unusual physical and / or emotional occurrences of client;
- Adheres to infection control standards and policies;
- Promotes and applies professional nursing standards and codes of conduct;
- Is knowledgeable of, and has a good understanding of, the policies and procedures that govern correctional client care and health and safety issues;
- Monitors and addresses client satisfaction with care, health and safety issues (including the physical environment) related to client care to meet best practice standards;
- Participates in reviewing, revising, delegating and formulating the plan of care following ongoing client assessment with multidisciplinary team members;
- Serves as a direct care provider for complex situations, under direction of a Registered Nurse as appropriate;
- Adheres to advances in evidence based practices are incorporated into nursing care delivery;
- Follows direction of a Registered Nurse to ensure client assignments are appropriate and that nursing care is effective, and reflects the changing needs and conditions of the client;
- Participates in client care planning through multidisciplinary and client / family collaboration;
- Assists Registered Nurse in monitoring client’s progress against plan of care;
- Assessment of patients physically and mentally using evidenced based practice tools;
- Participates in case conferences with appropriate members of the multidisciplinary team and the client / family as required;
- Other duties as required.
