Responsibilities
The Payroll Specialist in Dollard-des-Ormeaux will :
Process bi-weekly payrolls for several provinces and prepare journal entry reports
Produce all time and attendance functions (file creation, time updates, holidays, time banks, training, etc.)
Verify files before processing the first payroll.
Handle all required annual payroll declarations and bi-weekly contributions to the defined contribution pension plan and group RRSP, as well as related reconciliations.
Maintain up-to-date records (e.g., direct deposits, miscellaneous deductions and garnishments).
Participate in payroll-related general ledger reconciliations, audits and special projects as required.
Support initiatives for continuous evaluation and improvement of internal controls.
Qualifications
The payroll specialist has
A minimum of 5 years in payroll processing
College diploma in accounting or equivalent
National Payroll Institute certification (an asset)
Experience in payroll accounting preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in French and English.
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills required
Experience with ADP and WorkDay payroll systems preferred
Experience with time and attendance systems.
Experience and / or basic knowledge of SAP preferred
