Legal Associate (Family Law or Criminal / Corporate / Real Estate Law)
Location : Downtown Winnipeg
Start Date : ASAP
Hours : 8 : 30 am 5 : 00 pm
Overview :
Local growing legal firm based in Winnipeg, is seeking two Legal Associates to join their dynamic team. We are looking for one professional with a Family Law background and another with experience in Criminal, Corporate, or Real Estate Law .
Ideal candidates should be practicing professionals with their own portfolio of clients, either recently graduated or with a couple of years of experience in their respective fields.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct client consultations, explaining legal processes, fees, and expectations.
- Manage client cases from inception to resolution.
- Collect, prepare, and organize documentation for court proceedings.
- Offer legal advice and guidance to clients on legal principles and case strategy.
- Prepare and review legal documents in preparation for court hearings.
- Collaborate with other lawyers in the firm on litigation strategies.
- Manage accounting and documentation for case-related expenses.
Required Skills and Experience :
- Bachelor of Laws degree.
- Experience in Family Law , Criminal Law , Corporate Law , or Real Estate Law .
- 2-3 years of practicing experience in the legal field.
- A professional with an existing portfolio of clients is highly preferred.
- Ability to manage complex cases, handle difficult conversations, and navigate stressful situations.
- Must be a lawyer in good standing with the relevant licensing body.
