Job Description
Experiencing warm and engaging service in luxurious surroundings is turning moments into memories for our guests at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. As the Assistant Laundry Manager, your care and attention to detail in our laundry operation will ensure exceptional standards for our hotel lines – you will take pride in the role you play facilitating a memorable guest stay.
What You Will Be Doing
- Reporting to the Laundry Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following :
- Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
- Follow departmental policies, procedures, and service standards
- Ensure the upkeep of all Laundry / Valet areas in respect to complete care, cleanliness and maintenance
- Train and supervise all employees within Laundry / Valet department
- Work with employees on a daily basis to upgrade skills and decision making
- Monitor health and safety regulations and W.H.I.M.S. training
- Active supporter of hotel committees
- Ensure all equipment within the department is maintained and is in good working order
- General office administration, which includes town contracts, payroll, scheduling, ordering supplies and inventory control
- Performance evaluation of all Laundry / Valet colleagues
- Conduct and follow up on monthly communication meetings
- Ensure all areas of food & beverage, housekeeping and linen closets are stocked and maintained
- Ensure guest requests are dealt with in a timely manner
- Assume operations in the absence of the Laundry Manager
- Adhere to the hotel’s vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel and guests' vehicles
- Follow policies, procedures and service standards
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Previous supervisory experience requiredLaundry experience an assetValid Alberta driver’s license required; ability to drive standard vehicle an assetAble to work flexible hours over a 24‑hour periodStrong problem‑solving skills with the ability to make decisionsMust be in good physical conditionExcellent communication and organizational skillsStrong interpersonal and problem‑solving abilitiesHighly responsible & reliableAbility to work well under pressure in a fast‑paced environmentAbility to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervisorAbility to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all timesAdditional Information
Visa Requirements : Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
