Job description

Our Ottawa Financial client is seeking a skilled Oracle WebLogic & Middleware Specialist for a Hybrid contract which involves overtime and possible on call work. The successful candidate, who must posses a Government of Canada SECRET Clearance , will provide expertise in middleware technologies, configuration management, platform maintenance, and operational support.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Participate in root-cause analysis , implement permanent solutions, and establish service monitoring mechanisms.
  • Contribute to middleware initiatives for platform maintenance and evolution .
  • Implement configuration management for middleware infrastructure.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex middleware-related business and technical problems .
  • Install and configure middleware technologies , including Oracle Fusion Middleware, Oracle Internet Directory, and SOA Suite .
  • Ensure services are delivered effectively under minimal supervision, following a general work plan.
  • Provide operational support for middleware environments, including IBM MQ .
  • Perform other related tasks as required.

Required Qualifications & Skills :

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with Oracle WebLogic Application Server (12.2 or higher, standard & clustered mode) .
  • Demonstrated middleware experience .
  • Experience with IBM MQ .
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
  • Expertise in installation and configuration of Oracle Fusion Middleware, Oracle Internet Directory, and SOA Suite .

    • Additional Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience in OpenShift version 4.x .
  • Knowledge of Azure ARO, AKS .
  • Proficiency in IBM DataPower, IBM DataStage, and JBOSS .
  • Hands-on experience with IBM WebSphere Portal .
  • Linux / Unix administration expertise.
  • Knowledge of J2EE application servers such as IBM WebSphere or Redhat JBoss EAP .
