Job descriptionNOC Code NOC 95101 - Labourers in metal fabrication Date Opened 03 / 13 / 2025 Job Type Full time Work Experience 1-3 years City Strathmore State / Province Alberta Country Canada Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints Remove excess metal and unwanted materials from metal parts, castings and other metal products and do other labouring activities Select and prepare metal stock for fabrication to make or repair metal structures such as boilers and pressure vessels Shape and bend metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools Setting up metalwork machinery including rollers, drill presses, flame cutters, brakes, and shears They join metal sections using various welding techniques, as well as cut metal sections by using flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines Double-checking design specifications before commencing with cutting work Conforming with state and company safety regulations Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering At least 1 year of proven experience in Metal Fabrication Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints AWS certification and advanced welding experience Ability to lift and manipulate large metal objects Advanced knowledge of engineering design and manufacturing procedures Advanced mathematical and engineering skills
