Job descriptionStrong expertise in Linux (RHEL 7 / 8 / 9) and Solaris (10 / 11) administration. Proficiency in YUM / DNF / PKG, kernel modules, SELinux, systemd, LVM, ZFS, and networking. Hands-on experience with patching tools, repositories, and satellite servers. Ability to troubleshoot OS-level issues in production environments. Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem). Certifications : RHEL & Solaris Administration. Experience with Ansible automation. Exposure to DevOps tools and CI / CD pipelines. Knowledge of CIS / DISA security benchmarks. Is this role right for you?
In this role you will :
- Execute end-to-end patching cycles for Linux and Solaris servers, including scheduling, approvals, deployment, and validation.
- Troubleshoot patch failures, dependency issues, and performance anomalies.
- Ensure compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements; perform OS hardening and vulnerability remediation.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and Ansible playbooks for patching tasks.
- Support OS upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle management.
- Maintain documentation for patching procedures, rollback plans, and known issues.
- Collaborate with application teams to minimize downtime during patch windows.
- Monitor and report patch health and compliance status.
- Participate in incident management and root-cause analysis for patch-related issues.
