Join our team as a Production Support for the Summer term. In this role, you’ll make a difference while building the skills and experience that will propel your career forward.
We are looking for an intern to join our Sheild team, here’s what you’ll do here :
Provide proactive and reactive support for production systems to guarantee their functionality
Resolve Incidents, Defects and Problem tickets by finding creative solutions, solving complex problems, coding, testing, and debugging a wide variety of systems
Code in a mainstream enterprise stack such as Java, JDBC, Hibernate, Angular, etc.
Gain proficiency with IntelliJ / Eclipse and other development tools
Contribute to Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) application development using GitHub, Docker and OpenShift environments
Create applications using industry standard development methodologies, such as Agile / Scrum / Kanban
Be creative and come up with ideas to improve our services and user experiences
What you bring to the table :
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering
Available to work with us full-time, 35 hours per week, for the Summer Term for 16 months (May to August )
Must be returning to school inFall 6 following your internship
Past internship experience is considered an asset
Excellent oral and written communication skills (English and / or French preferred).
Ability and desire to learn / adapt quickly to a changing environment
Strong team player ready to collaborate with different teams to solve complex problems
Experience in Javaor SQL is preferred
Familiarity with the following is considered an asset :
Building server-side apps using Java 8+, JDBC, Hibernate, or
Creating web services or APIs using REST, Spring Boot, or Spring framework, or
Relational databases like Oracle or No-SQL databases such as MongoDB or ElasticSearch
