Team Lead

Senior Civil Engineer

Reimbursement of applicable professional membership dues.YOUR DAY-TO-DAY : Leading civil engineering projects by developing and managing engineering designs, studies, and reports for land development and municipal infrastructure projects.

Coordinating the preparation of documents required for approvals, producing development and construction cost estimates, composing tender documents and contracts, and collaborating with team members to ensure schedules, budgets, and quality standards are met.

Evaluating the feasibility of pursuing proposals by engaging team members and selecting a proposal writer if necessary.Providing non-technical guidance and support to team members.

Identifying and implementing process improvements with the broader team to increase efficiency and productivity.Managing client relationships and projects to ensure they meet client expectations and project performance goals.

Developing new business opportunities and establishing strategic relationships with key clients, agencies, and partners.Providing construction contract administration for high-value and critical projects.

Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.Collaborating with other departments and stakeholders to ensure efficient group operation.

Completing required safety forms for each project and ensuring that safety policies and procedures are being followed by the team.

Providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior and intermediate team members, contributing technical expertise to conceptual design, detailed design, and construction administration activities.

Submitting weekly and monthly reports and participating in design and team meetings.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS : Professional Engineer designation or eligibility to register as a Professional Engineer with EGBC.

BSc degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.12+ years of relevant Canadian work experience.Ability to design all municipal civil infrastructure, including sites, roads, water, wastewater, stormwater, and grading.

Excellent project management skills with proven success leading project teams of engineers and technologists.Strong technical writing skills for reports and proposals.

Demonstrated contract administration skills.Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure, prioritize effectively, and manage deadlines.

Strong work ethic and drive to achieve success for the firm, clients, and team.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Outstanding analytical skills and attention to detail.Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.Valid Class 5 driver’s license (or equivalent) and access to a vehicle.

Ability to travel throughout BC as required.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS : PMP certification.MMCD CCA certification.Knowledge of computer software packages for roads, water, wastewater, and stormwater systems.

Experience preparing plans for stormwater management (ISMPs), master drainage (MDP), site stormwater management, and watershed.

Experience with water & wastewater treatment processes and piping & pumping systems.Familiarity with environmental permitting, legislation, and regulations, including the RAPR.

Familiarity with relevant EGBC Professional Practice Guidelines.Experience with large municipal infrastructure projects.Experience partnering with Indigenous communities to complete civil engineering projects.

COMPENSATION : Approximately $115k $150k base pay, annually.
