Commissionaires Ottawa is excited to share that we have a new opening in our Human Resources Department for a Bilingual Staffing Officer.
What you will be doing…
As a Staffing Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the organization's staffing needs by identifying the right talent and ensuring a smooth hiring process. You will work closely with hiring managers and other HR team members to help attract, select, and onboard top talent.
Some of your responsibilities include…
- Work with hiring managers to determine position requirements and selection criteria
- Create and post job opportunities on internal and external platforms
- Review, log, and screen applications to identify qualified candidates
- Contact candidates to discuss job details and expectations
- Conduct pre-screening interviews and reference checks
- Schedule and coordinate interviews and internal transfers
- Participate in the interview and selection panels, ensuring fairness and consistency
- Prepare and issue offer letters, employment contracts, and onboarding materials
- Update and maintain staffing-related content on the Employee Intranet
- Research and apply best practices for staffing and selection processes
- Support talent identification for hard-to-fill roles in collaboration with recruiting teams
- Assist with succession planning and promote opportunities for internal career growth

Be bilingual in both French and English with strong oral and written communication skillsMinimum of 2 years of HR experience with a focus on staffing and / or recruitingA diploma or degree in Human Resources or a related field; a combination of education and relevant experience will also be consideredDemonstrated understanding of Recruitment best practices and related legislationDemonstrate Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially ExcelA Secret level Security Clearance from the Federal Government, or be eligible to obtain itApplication Process
