The Role : As a Medical Device Reprocessing Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring patient safety by meticulously decontaminating, inspecting, testing, assembling, packaging, sterilizing, and distributing medical products used in patient care throughout the hospital.
Responsibilities :
Sort and process contaminated surgical instruments, ensuring the integrity of sets for sterilization through disassembly, washing, and packaging.
Execute clean assembly processes, including case cart set-up and supply restocking.
Dismantle soiled carts and manually clean instruments, adhering to universal precautions and hospital protocols.
Conduct quality inspections of instruments post-washing for cleanliness and functionality.
Perform biological testing of sterilizers, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
Requirements :
Successful completion of a recognized Medical Device Reprocessing Technician course.
Ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the role.
Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality including paper, electronic formats and other mediums.
Knowledge of surgical and medical terminology.
Legal entitlement to work in Canada.
