Join our team in Montreal as a Developer – Business Systems for Connected Factory within our Satellite Systems division and take part in innovative projects that push the limits of space technology!

Role :

Reporting to the Operations and Supply Chain departments, the Developer – Business Systems  is responsible for the continuous improvement and support of the company's processes and information systems.

The candidate is responsible for the complete systems lifecycle, including but not limited to : investigation, documentation, design, programming, testing, management of production system releases and end-user training, maintenance and support.

The candidate must have excellent interpretation, programming, communication and organizational skills. The candidate must be able to work independently with initiative and little supervision.

Dedication is required to meet project deadlines, balancing the need to provide quality deliverables within budget and on schedule. Teamwork skills and a positive attitude are essential to establish productive working relationships.

Tasks :

• Program business solutions with Microsoft .Net Framework (mainly using Web Forms or MVC).
• Support the application of industry best practices and standards, and develop innovative solutions to challenging problems.
• Develop solutions by interpreting functional and design specifications. May be required to develop block diagrams and data / logic flowcharts.
• Lead meetings and presentations.
• Perform data analysis (such as troubleshooting, budgeting and costing, metrics, systems architecture analysis).
• Assist in the creation of application design documents.
• Apply the necessary subsystems and tools required to support application development, testing and reuse.
• Perform application design, programming, testing and integration.
• Review all test results and make any programming changes that may be required.
• Make recommendations to the team leader to improve cost-effectiveness and successfully meet commitments.
• Prepare comprehensive operational procedures for programs and users, ensuring ease of operation and maintainability of applications.
• Ability to interpret user requests and requirements and develop cost-effective solutions that meet immediate needs while being proactive and providing additional functionality for future benefit.
• Contribute to project execution from a budget and schedule perspective.
• Participate in software updates and patching as required.
• Attend team and project review meetings and provide appropriate updates.
• Liaise with internal and external customers in a professional manner.
• Ensure effective implementation and ongoing operation of new and modified applications by training users to operate the system.
• Provide implementation and post-implementation support to users.
• Provide assistance to employees in the same or other departments.

Professional and educational experience

Minimum of :

College degree in management information systems, computer science, computer engineering, business administration, commerce or equivalent, combined with five (5) or more years of related experience

or

University degree in management information systems, computer science, computer engineering, business administration, commerce or equivalent, combined with two (2) or more years of related experience

Special Considerations :

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the Reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
