Lead Registered Veterinary Technician - Paradise Animal Hospital and Wellness Centre

About The Role

Our ideal Lead Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) is an experienced RVT that can assist with the leadership of the Practice and the team. We are looking for someone that can build positive client relationships by displaying genuine care and compassion towards clients and their pets, being respectful in all interactions and providing exceptional customer service. The RVT also assists the Veterinarian with medical, surgical and dental procedures, by using a range of diagnostic equipment, preparing patients, instruments and equipment for surgery; and administering and monitoring medicines under the direction of a Veterinarian. Additionally, the Lead RVT will assist in the training and mentoring of other team members.

Team Lead Responsibilities :

• Create and maintain the treatment room team schedule in the Practice scheduling software. Involves ensuring appropriate staffing in line with the workload of the Veterinarians as well as approving vacation and other leave requests after the Practice Manager’s initial approval.
• Provide on-going, timely and effectively constructive feedback. Involves providing treatment room team members with clear performance expectations and feedback in a manner that is respectful, builds confidence and maintains self-esteem.
• Provide treatment room team members with ongoing coaching, cross-training, mentoring and training opportunities in order to set them up for continued success. Involves collaborating with treatment room team members for bi-annual performance check-ins and working with team members to develop goals and ‘success paths’.
• Onboard and train new RVT’s and Technologists.
• Approachable and a natural leader who can build a team, build morale, create a positive employee experience and smoothly sail through stressful moments.
