What you'll do :
The successful candidate will be responsible for all the following (and other duties as required);
- Assist with processes for payroll, benefits, pension, new hires & terminations, retirements and leaves of absence.
- Assist with employee onboarding and retention initiatives.
- Assist with employee disability claims process and document management of medical information.
- Assist with recruitment processes including conducting pre-screening calls, creation of job requisitions, backchecks and drafting offers.
- Compile, verify and prepare reports and statistics for HR and the retail as required. Assist with follow-up to maintain accurate employee records and statistics. Support reporting and requests for data analytics to help inform business decisions.
- Assist with employee learning, course registration, inputting certificates in the system and tracking expiry dates
- Updating job profiles as required
- Maintaining confidential employee files
- Establish incident prevention and risk reduction initiatives and collaborates with employees to identify and correct health & safety hazards.
- Lead regular coaching / training sessions with employees about safety initiatives, how to work safely and incident prevention methods.
- Help to conduct employee orientation for new employees and contractors and maintain training records.
- Develop strategies on safety programs and initiatives, as well as help to implement and maintain such programs and initiatives.
- Develop and monitoring safe work practices and procedures, hazard assessments, policies, manuals and forms as required.
- Help conduct workplace inspections, investigations, and safety audits as well as devise site specific implementation of COR initiatives and incident corrective actions with team leaders employees. Conduct internal maintenance audits for COR and arrange external audits when required.
- Chair Safety committee meetings and help provide education and coaching for fellow committee members in health & safety topics.
- Keep current knowledge of applicable safety legislation and make recommendations to senior leadership to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Help with administrating WCB claims and the return to work programs.
- Monitor the use of Health & Safety related programs and applications and related records.
- Assist with ensuring compliance with Alberta Transportation Safety for our heavy commercial and passenger vehicle fleet.
