Job description

We are currently seeking experienced   Heavy Equipment Technicians to join our  Timmins Construction & Forestry location.

This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction, aggregate / crushing units, pavers / compaction and forestry-based equipment and attachments in a shop environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble / disassemble, order parts for, and repair heavy duty equipment
  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Dismantle, repair, and assemble industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to specifications
  • Operate hoisting devices to position machinery and parts during assembly, installation, and / or repair activities
  • Test and provide constructive feedback on existing and newly manufactured industrial equipment
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair malfunctioning machinery and equipment
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery
  • Prepare electronic inspection and service reports
  • Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel
  • Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required
  • Other duties as required

  • Required Experience

  • Must have the ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel
  • Outstanding knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Proven computer and technical aptitude and knowledge for diagnostics and calibration work.
  • Demonstrated diagnostic skills to understand mechanical and technical equipment repair needs.
  • Strong time-management skills to perform effectively under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills, showing an appreciation of customer needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
  • A commitment to high quality customer service with a strong people orientation.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
