Job Summary :

We are looking for a detail-oriented, organized, and professional individual. As part of the Housekeeping department, the Executive Housekeeper provides the highest level of owner and guest experience and leads decisions affecting Owners, Guests, Associates, and Operating Procedures that contribute to the overall success of the Department, Lodging Ovations, and ultimately WhistlerBlackcomb / Vail Resorts.

Supervise and lead the housekeeping staff, including housekeepers, house / bell persons, and public area cleaners.

Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and development. o Schedule shifts to ensure adequate coverage and efficient operations.

Guest Room & Public Area Cleanliness :

Maintain, check, and enforce rigorous standards for safety, cleanliness, presentation, and maintenance in guest rooms, suites, and public areas.

Respond to guest requests or complaints promptly and professionally.

Inventory & Supplies Management :

Oversee the procurement, inventory, and maintenance of cleaning supplies, linen, and other housekeeping materials.

Ensure proper stock levels and control the department’s budget by minimizing waste. o Negotiate with suppliers to maintain quality at competitive prices.

Operational Oversight :

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including sanitation standards.

Collaborate with the Engineering / Maintenance team to address any repair or maintenance issues in guest rooms or public spaces.

Monitor the cleanliness of the back-of-house areas, including employee workspaces, storage areas, and restrooms.

Guest Satisfaction :

Promote and maintain high levels of guest satisfaction by ensuring the hotel’s cleanliness standards are consistently met, and resolving any related complaints.

Implement programs and initiatives to enhance guest experience (e.g., luxury turndown services, special requests).

Financial Management :

Manage housekeeping department budgets, including payroll and supply costs.

Monitor expenses and make recommendations for cost-saving measures without compromising quality.

Reporting & Communication :

Maintain open communication with hotel management and other departments (e.g., Front Desk, Engineering / Maintenance, Owner Services, and VR Corporate Services).

Collaborate with HOA / EOA and Design Review Committees for suite refurbishments, and help facilitate bringing First Tracks Lodge units back in rental inventory.

Actively participate in VR Corporate led committees, etc.

Skills and Qualifications :

Proven experience as an Executive Housekeeper, Director of Housekeeping, or in a similar senior role within a luxury hotel or resort.

Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate, train, and develop a large team.

In-depth knowledge of cleaning standards, techniques, and safety protocols.

Strong budget management skills and cost control.

Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

High-level understanding of luxury guest service standards.

Familiarity with hotel management software, housekeeping management systems, procurement platforms such as Coupa, payroll and performance management systems, etc.

Flexibility in working hours, including weekends and holidays.

Education and Experience :

Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in housekeeping management, preferably in a luxury hotel environment.

Additional certifications in hospitality or cleaning management are a plus.

Working Conditions : The Executive Housekeeper works in an onsite office setting but will spend significant time on the floor interacting with the housekeeping team, inspecting rooms and public areas, and collaborating with other departments. Some evening or weekend shifts may be required, especially during peak seasons.
