INTERNATIONAL SCREENING RESEARCHER

Under the supervision of the Practice Manager of the International Screening team, the International Screening Researcher is essential to the integrity and efficiency of the background screening process. This role demands a high level of precision and diligence in verifying credentials and conducting thorough investigations on a global scale. The International Screening Researcher is tasked with performing detailed background checks, leveraging a variety of online databases and tools to authenticate employment histories, educational achievements, professional qualifications and to review and summarize relevant news articles and online content as part of the investigative process. The role also requires direct communication with educational institutions, previous employers, and other relevant entities to obtain and confirm necessary information.

In addition to investigative responsibilities, the International Screening Researcher is responsible for synthesizing and presenting collected data in a clear and professional manner. This includes drafting, editing, and finalizing comprehensive reports that meet client expectations and adhere to high standards of accuracy and quality. Mastery of relevant databases and the use of international vendors to verify degrees and professional credentials is crucial for this position. The researcher must also stay updated on new tools and methods to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the screening process.

Overall, the International Screening Researcher plays a key role in ensuring that clients receive reliable and accurate information, supporting decision-making processes with detailed and precise background checks. Responsibilities :

In accordance with Mintz standards, the International Screening Researcher shall :

  • Conduct detailed investigative background screenings for various clients to verify employment history, educational achievements, and professional qualifications.
  • Utilize online databases, telephone calls, and email correspondence to confirm credentials and gather necessary information.
  • Learn and become proficient in using databases and vendors that serve as international liaisons for verifying degrees and professional qualifications worldwide.
  • Carefully review and summarize relevant news articles and other online content as part of the investigative process.
  • Synthesize gathered information into well-organized, client-ready reports, ensuring accuracy and professionalism in both drafting and editing.
  • Master the use of databases that cover public records to support comprehensive background checks.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills and effective communication abilities, both written and oral.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure the delivery of exceptional client service.
  • Participate in training sessions and contribute to the development of team knowledge and skills.
  • Meet client-driven deadlines with precision and respond to inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with clients to address their needs and ensure satisfaction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors to support departmental objectives and contribute to team success.

Required Qualifications :

Knowledge and Education

  • Proven expertise in investigative research and report writing, with a strong command of grammar, punctuation,
  • and detail orientation.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (considered an asset)
  • Fluency in English is required; additional language skills are advantageous. Languages of particular interest
  • include Chinese, French, German, Italian, and Russian.

    Experience, Skills and Abilities

  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience in a research-focused or investigative role, with demonstrated skills in
  • background screening or related tasks.

  • Proficiency in using online databases and conducting thorough research.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and professional reports.
  • A positive attitude with a commitment to high-quality client service and timely delivery.
  • Experience in handling sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality, ensuring that all client data and
  • investigative findings are protected and managed according to privacy standards.
