Compensation : $23 - $33 per hour

Job Description

HealthMend Solutions is seeking dedicated and compassionate Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to join our team. Our PSWs play a crucial role in supporting clients with their activities of daily living, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care in their homes or in community settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Personal Care Assistance : Help clients with rising and retiring, dressing and undressing, personal grooming, and hygiene.
• Mobility Support : Assist with positioning, transferring, and portering of clients.
• Meal Preparation : Prepare light meals and assist with feeding as needed.
• Health Monitoring : Continually assess and respond to the changing needs of clients, and communicate with healthcare team members.
• Delegated Tasks : Perform tasks as assigned by a Home Support Supervisor under their supervision.
• Travel : Travel within the assigned region between clients' residences or facilities.

Skills & Qualifications

• Mandatory : Completed Personal Support Worker certificate.
• Experience : 1yrs or more Related work experience within the community or with adults with physical disabilities is an asset.
• Communication : Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Physical Capability : Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including standing, bending, walking, crouching, kneeling, reaching freely, lifting up to 23 kg independently, and repositioning clients in bed.
• Flexibility : Available to work non-traditional hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Willingness to work out of town and in different homes and shifts.
• Transportation : Must have access to own transportation.
• Additional Requirements :
• Valid Standard First Aid and Level C CPR
• Valid Vulnerable Sector Criminal Check
• Updated TB Test (last 12 months)
• COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses) is mandatory

Requirements

Proven experience as a registered nurse. Excellent knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures. Excellent knowledge of emergency care.

In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures (sanitation, decontamination etc.) and willingness to follow them at all times.

A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Responsible and compassionate. Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills.

Patient with excellent problem-solving skills. B.Sc or other diploma from a nursing program. A valid nursing license.
