Art Teacher

Description

• Strong instructional and classroom management skills.
• Plan and deliver general art classes to groups of up to 25 students.
• Responsible for preparing lessons and leading art class instruction for K grade 8 school students.
• Be able to introduce pupils to simple art concepts such as the creative process cultivating their talents while deepening their knowledge and understanding of art design and art history.
• Design school art installations that promote creative collaboration and make school environment more personalized.
• Manage student behavior and classroom routines to maximize learning time and create a positive classroom environment.
• Build a world-class art program while cultivating a school environment which prioritizes aesthetics.

• Must hold a bachelors degree from an accredited college or university.
• Teacher certification and/or combination of equivalent education or experience
• 2 years of prior Art teaching experience.
• Capacity to create curriculum creation if needed.
• Must be able to produce at least two written professional references.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check.
• Must be proficient in educational technology and the arts.
• Collaborative practitioner who works well with colleagues.
• Must be proficient in art history.
• Ability to effectively communicate with parents on a regular basis.
