The Opportunity :

Our client within the construction technology industry is seeking a skilled and energetic individual to join the team as a Project & Solutions Coordinator. This role requires expertise in blueprint reading and construction of high-rise mechanical building systems for Domestic Water and Hydronics. You will be responsible for analyzing MEP and architectural drawings to pinpoint the best locations for IoT-enabled device installations and developing technical project plans. Additionally, you will play a key role in coordinating projects from planning through to completion, ensuring successful implementation of technology services and seamless coordination of deliverables as each construction project evolves.

What You'll Be Doing :

  • Reviewing MEP / architectural drawings, blueprints, and schematics to determine suitable locations for integrating IoT-enabled devices in mechanical building systems, including automatic shut-off valves, flow sensors, and presence of water sensors.
  • Evaluating existing water mitigation solutions and service delivery to identify opportunities for automation and continuous improvement.
  • Developing strategies to enhance system and service performance, including efficiency, reliability, and safety.
  • Creating detailed project-specific technical proposals outlining the scope of risk controls and IoT device deployment during construction, including component specifications, installation methods, and project timelines.
  • Supporting internal and external project teams in communicating proposal details to clients and stakeholders.
  • Developing comprehensive installation plans detailing the placement and configuration of IoT-enabled devices within mechanical building systems.
  • Collaborating with field managers, engineers, and technicians to coordinate the implementation of IoT-enabled solutions during construction.
  • Assisting with project-related communications between various stakeholders, including engineers, clients, contractors, and the internal team.
  • Monitoring project progress to ensure work is executed in accordance with specifications and company standards.
  • Identifying potential risks and challenges, and working with the project team to develop and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including progress reports, response plans, change orders, and project status updates.
  • Conducting thorough inspections and tests to verify the proper functioning of IoT-enabled systems and water risk mitigation plans.

What You'll Need to Be Successful :

  • A degree or diploma in Construction Management, MEP Technician, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 1-2 years in mechanical estimating and plumbing fundamentals on domestic water systems for high-rise buildings / vertical construction.
  • Ability to read and interpret MEP and architectural drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • 1 year experience using Bluebeam Revu or equivalent software platforms.
  • Understanding and experience with IoT-enabled technologies (e.g., automatic shut-off valves, flow sensors) is an asset.
  • Strong technical plan development and installation planning skills.
  • Experience in cost estimation and project budgeting.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with Canadian and American regulatory requirements related to mechanical systems or a willingness to learn.
  • Knowledge of green building practices and sustainable design is an asset.
