We are currently seeking a Field Engineer with expertise in electrical testing, maintenance and commissioning for high-voltage power systems. This role involves hands-on fieldwork, project execution and power system studies.
Responsibilities :
Perform electrical testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low, medium, and high-voltage equipment.Prepare project documentation including drawings, specification, schedules, and estimatesInspect and test switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, relays, cables, and related systems.Liaises with customers to ensure efficient planning and needs are handled.Power system modeling and analysisEnsure compliance with industry standards such as CSA, IEEE, and NFPA.Collaborate with team members to complete projects safely, on time, and within scope.Adhere to strict safety protocols and BCES QA / QC processes.Complete and document test results, reports, and recommendations.Supervise complex testing and commissioning projects.Lead teams in troubleshooting, repair, and system integration tasks.Provide technical expertise and act as a resource for complex diagnostics and solutions.Collaborate with engineering teams on specialized studies and project planning.Develop and design protection and optimization systemsQualifications :
NETA Certification or equivalent experience (NICET, utility or OEM training, etc.).Strong knowledge of electrical testing standards (CSA, NFPA, IEEE).3 - 5 years of work experience in power and project managementA bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred5+ years' experience in buildings electrical systems design preferredMust have or be eligible for the P. Eng. designation in OntarioPrior experience using CAD or REVITAbility to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.Proficiency in using testing equipment such as Doble Power Factor sets, TTR testers, circuit breaker analyzers, and relay test sets.Excellent communication and organizational skills.Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.Candidates must pass a background check upon receiving a conditional offer.
