Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) – Modern OT

Modern OT is a community-based occupational therapy practice servicing Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec. Established in 1998, Modern OT has grown to be a team with more than 35 OTs, has broadened virtual and group therapy services, and has established OT clinics in Ottawa, Kingston, and Pembroke. In 2022, Modern OT partnered with Lifemark Health Group, which has led to further expansion of services offered to clients, including veterans and Canadian Forces members, First Responders, and other individuals facing physical and mental health barriers to their daily life.
What will you do?
- Deliver OTA treatment in home and in the community as delegated by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Complete record keeping in compliance with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario Standards of Practice – delegated to the OTA by the supervising OT.
- Prepare session notes (as appropriate), in keeping with the company templates.
- Complete administrative tasks as it relates to clinical file management to support the occupational therapists.
- Order equipment and complete research relating to a client’s OT needs as directed by the supervising OT.
- Provide support to group therapy programming as needed including the Chronic Pain Management Group and Mindfulness Group.
What do you need to succeed?
Diploma in Occupational Therapy Assistant / Physical Therapy Assistant (OTA / PTA) program from a recognized collegeExperience working in a healthcare setting with a focus on OTA program / treatment deliveryExperience in private practice and motor vehicle accident sector is an assetBilingual in French and EnglishTeam player, energetic, and resourcefulExceptional client and colleague communication skillsAbility to multi-task and prioritizeStrong attention to detailAdapt quickly to changing priorities and needsProficient with technology and computer applications including Microsoft Office and Adobe; experience in the handling of secure documentsProfessional approach to all situations to create a positive working environmentAbility to complete duties independently and in a team environmentCapacity to adhere to established procedures and processes consistentlyExcellent oral and written communication skillsAvailability to work Monday - Friday, 8 : 30AM - 4 : 30PMValid Driver’s License and use of a vehicle with appropriate insurance to complete community interventionsBenefits :
