Our client's M&M (mining & metals) team is a global leader in studying, engineering, and executing projects, redefining project delivery models and embracing innovative technologies. You'll play a key role in delivering engineering to our client's high safety and quality standards, leading multi-disciplined teams for EPC or EPCM projects across North America, European Union, Asia, and South America.

Job Description :

  • Oversee Field Engineering tasks focusing on electrical, instrumentation, and control system disciplines, including supervising Document Management teams.
  • Provide technical assistance within discipline boundaries to construction activities and ensure adherence to site quality programs.
  • Monitor and manage interface tasks between electrical / instrumentation engineering and construction during engineering and planning phases.
  • Handle various design tasks related to temporary construction facilities and utilities within the discipline.
  • Adhere to project and electrical code safety protocols.
  • Implement the Field Engineering program within the discipline's purview.
  • Develop technical work procedures specific to the discipline.
  • Offer technical support for contracts.
  • Interpret design document requirements, review design drawings for completeness and constructability, and ensure necessary information for as-built drawings.
  • Coordinate responses to discipline Requests for Information (RFI) and evaluate bid proposals for electrical and instrumentation disciplines.
  • Analyze situations, identify potential issues, evaluate options, and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Participate in Engineering walk-downs and collaborate with construction management disciplines.
  • Review project schedules and costs, participate in risk and value evaluation / studies, and support payment approvals to suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Provide guidance on Contractual claims.

Job Requirements :

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, with project experience.
  • Possess sixteen (16) years of experience as a Professional Electrical Engineer, or equivalent experience totaling twenty (20) years if non-degreed.
  • Preferably a Professional Engineer, although not mandatory.
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, including technical writing capabilities.
  • Familiarity with safety policies, procedures, and practicing safe work habits.
  • Develop an understanding of technical packages and contracts.
  • Perform Construction Engineering tasks using standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of relevant local, state / provincial, and federal / national statutes and guidelines.
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable codes and standards within project contexts.
