Inventory Specialist

Inventory Specialist (One Year - Temporary)

Salary Range : $60,000 - $75,000 Annually

Location : BC & Alberta Locations

The Inventory Specialist will be focused on supporting pellet operations and local plants by verifying the inventory and critical parts and helping prepare the sites for the D365 project, which requires capturing, analyzing, and reviewing the inventory .

The successful candidate will work within the D365 system, and directly with the plants, ensuring that parts are catalogued and ready for entry in an organized and efficient way.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with procurement, inventory, and maintenance team representatives at various plant locations as required to develop the inventory module.
  • Operate within the parts requisition process and inventory management system in the ERP.
  • Ensure proper setup of inventory items in the ERP system and maintain updated purchase prices. Implement minimum inventory levels and automatic reorder points.
  • Review on-hand inventory and variances from physical inventory counts across locations.
  • Help to identify vendors for materials, equipment, or supplies, alongside the site and procurement teams.

About you

You'll possess the following skills, abilities, and experience :

  • A bachelor's degree in a related field, such as logistics or business, preferred to be considered an asset, OR equivalent experience in a similar .
  • Preference would be given to someone with knowledge of logistics and supply chain, or who has worked in a warehouse or plant setting and helped create or develop an inventory management system.
  • Ability to organize, create, and implement an inventory control system, working with stakeholders at local plants and a central warehouse.
  • Understanding of purchasing processes and tracking of orders and parts in systems.
  • Experience in lean manufacturing environments.
  • Computer proficiency; ability to use full Microsoft Suite of products, with significant Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet experience.
