Journeyman Industrial Mechanic / Millwright Location : Albany, PE (On-Site) Pay Range : $34.76 - $36.15 / Hour Hours of Work : Fulltime (40 Hours per week) Shift work Why work for us? Job Description The Journeyman Industrial Mechanic / Millwright reports to the Maintenance Supervisor or a designate thereof and will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of machinery and equipment within our beef processing plant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical systems, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance. This role requires a keen attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and inspections on processing equipment and machinery. Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues, implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime. Install, align, and dismantle machinery and equipment as required. Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure the longevity and efficiency of equipment. Collaborate with the maintenance team to develop and improve maintenance procedures. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Assist in the training and development of junior maintenance staff. Perform other duties as required. Requirements 1-2 years of experience as Mechanic / Millwright. Experience in a large-scale meat or food manufacturing / processing environment considered an asset. Certification from a vocational school or completion of an apprenticeship is required. Must possess Journeyman Millwright Certification or equivalent mechanical trades. Excellent knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical and other systems and their components. Aptitude in using various hand tools (screwdrivers, hammers etc.) and precision measurement tools (e.g. calipers). Ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instruction, blueprints etc. A strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines. Very good communication skills and good problem-solving skills. Very good physical strength and stamina, able to lift, pull, push, and handle up to 80 lbs. This role requires constant walking, bending, crouching, kneeling, and reaching for extended periods. Able to work in cold, hot, and wet environments Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks. Willingness to rotational shift work, work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime as needed. Should be available for on-call during emergencies. Our workplace is a meat processing facility that is an environment of multi-temperatures and varying levels of humidity. We convert live cattle into Federally Inspected beef products.
