Nurse Practitioner – Interventional Pain Management
Location : Calgary, Alberta
Type : Full-Time / Permanent
Compensation : $100–$130 / hour (negotiable based on experience)
About the Opportunity
Our client, a leading and rapidly growing diagnostic and interventional medical organization in Alberta, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join their specialized Interventional Pain Management team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside one of the top pain management specialists in the country within a collaborative, research-driven, and patient-centered environment.
The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled, hands-on NP who thrives in a fast-paced clinical setting and is passionate about innovation in interventional care.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Collaboration & Patient Care
- Partner with the Director of Interventional Pain Management to support complex procedures and multidisciplinary treatment planning.
- Assist with specialized pain and spine interventions (e.g., joint injections, vertebral augmentation, intradiscal therapies).
- Manage patient preparation, monitoring, and recovery for procedures.
- Provide education, discharge planning, and continuity of care.
- Conduct independent assessments, order diagnostics, prescribe medications, and make procedural recommendations.
Research & Academic Contribution
Support ongoing clinical studies, including patient recruitment and data collection.Collaborate with research and physician teams on study design and reporting.Contribute to publications and conference presentations.Leadership & Professional Development
Mentor junior clinical staff and trainees.Contribute to development of clinical protocols and quality improvements.Represent the organization in professional and academic settings.Operational Support
Assist in managing procedural scheduling, optimizing workflow, and maintaining smooth day-to-day operations.Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Nursing with Nurse Practitioner designation (CARNA required)ACLS and BLS certifications (mandatory)3–5+ years of advanced practice experience (pain management, anesthesiology, ICU, orthopedics, or surgical background preferred)Prescriptive authority and diagnostic ordering abilityStrong organizational, leadership, and communication skillsPassion for patient care and continuous professional growthWhat’s Offered
